Natural Calcium Sand

ProRep Natural Calcium Sand is produced by taking 100% pure natural limestone and grinding it to make a sand substrate. Because it is pure calcium carbonate it will dissolve if eaten and is unlikely to cause gut impaction. In fact it is an excellent source of dietary calcium and many animals will eat it quite naturally to provide them with calcium. ProRep Calcium Sand can be used as a substrate for many reptiles that originate from arid habitats and is suitable for all species that require a dry sandy substrate. Because it is produced from limestone it can be dampened to provide areas of higher humidity, such as under hides, without the risk of it rotting. 

Directions:
Spread the substrate evenly over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of at least 1-2” (2.5-5cm). Spot-clean daily and completely replace every two or three weeks, or more frequently if it becomes heavily soiled or wet. Small areas of the substrate can be lightly sprayed to provide local humidity control but avoid making the substrate too wet. If you are using an under-tank heatmat as your heat source do not use a thick layer of Calci Grit as this may cause the heatmat to overheat.
